How to Stop Overthinking and Regain Your Peace of Mind

A Practical Course for Breaking the Overthinking Cycle

Humans have been suffering from overthinking as long as we have walked the Earth. Resolve Rumination teaches you the three most powerful, battle-tested methods for breaking the cycle — so you can reclaim your peace of mind.

What Rumination Looks Like

Rumination is repetitive thinking that keeps circling the same subject without moving you toward a useful decision, action, or resolution.

Meet Jesse Coomer

I have spent more than a decade teaching people how to work with their breath, attention, and nervous system in practical ways.

I am the author of A Practical Guide to Breathwork and The Language of Breath, and the founder of The Language of Breath certification program.

But my interest in rumination is personal, too. Overthinking was actually one of the reasons I began exploring how breathing interacts with psychology in the first place. Even years into my professional practice, I was still trying to understand which tools genuinely helped me step out of those feedback loops.

That work eventually led me beyond breathwork, too. I found several tools that became part of my own practice for dealing with rumination. Resolve Rumination is where I teach the three that have been most useful to me.

Practical Tools to Stop Overthinking

The aim is not to force your mind to become quiet. It is to get better at noticing when useful thinking has turned into mental rumination, and know what you can do next.

This course is educational. It is not treatment for anxiety or any other medical or mental health condition.

Catch the Loop Early

Learn to recognize your own ruminating thoughts sooner, before you have spent an hour following the same mental path.

Interrupt It on Demand

Practice simple tools that give you somewhere else to direct your attention when the loop starts taking over.

Separate Thinking From Rumination

Learn to tell the difference between thinking that helps you understand or solve something and thinking that simply keeps repeating itself.

Sleep and Reset Better

Build practical ways to settle your attention when overthinking at night makes it difficult to leave the day behind.

Three Methods to Interrupt Rumination

When you are caught in an overthinking loop, you need more than someone telling you to “stop thinking about it.” I teach you three practical steps to recognize rumination, work with your mind and body, and interrupt the pattern when it starts.

01
Identify Early and Discern

Learn what is happening when your brain gets caught in overthinking and rumination, and why the loop can feel useful even when it is not. I’ll show you how to recognize the signs early and tell the difference between productive thinking and rumination.

02
Breathwork for Rumination

This goes beyond simply giving you a breathing technique. I’ll show you how to use breathwork alongside practical strategies that engage your attention, mind, and body when you notice yourself getting pulled into an overthinking loop.

03
The Somatic Strategy

Sometimes you need to get out of your head and involve your body. In this step, I’ll teach you somatic and verbal practices that use movement, awareness, and action to help interrupt the loop and process what has been keeping your mind occupied.

You Do Not Have to Keep Running the Loop

You cannot control every thought that enters your mind. But you can get better at recognizing when thinking has turned into a loop and know what to do when it happens.

That is what I want to teach you in Resolve Rumination.
