Becoming a Certified Breathworker: Career Opportunities & Training Guide

ree

When I first started practicing breathwork, I never imagined it would become my career. What began as a personal practice has grown into a mission: helping others learn the Language of Breath and share it with the world. Over the years, many people have asked me:

“How can I learn to teach breathwork to others?”

That question is what inspired me to create the Language of Breath Certification Program, a training designed to equip you with the science, skills, and confidence to guide individuals and groups safely and effectively.

Why Certification Matters

Breathwork is powerful, and guiding others requires more than personal experience. Certification ensures you:

  • Understand how breathing impacts the body and mind

  • Know how to keep people safe during sessions

  • Can confidently lead both individuals and groups

  • Build credibility as a professional facilitator

This program is not just about learning techniques; it’s about mastering a complete system you can apply across many contexts.

What You’ll Learn in the Language of Breath Certification

I developed the Language of Breath as a science-based, intuitive, and adaptable approach to teaching breathwork. During training, you’ll gain skills in:

The Language of Breath Training System

We’ll study the science together during virtual classes before your In-Person Capstone, where you’ll receive face-to-face training. You’ll leave with a framework you can adapt to group sessions, workshops, or one-on-one coaching.

Group Breathwork Facilitation

You’ll receive pre-composed group sessions while also learning how to design your own programming. This ensures you can confidently lead events of any size.

Workshop Design

You’ll have templates for specific workshops, such as:

  • Breathwork for Athletic Performance

  • Breathwork for Emotional Resilience

  • Breathing for Addiction Recovery

  • The Complete Language of Breath Workshop

You’ll also gain the tools to create your own workshops based on your audience’s needs.

One-on-One Coaching

You’ll learn how to identify breathing disorders, create personalized plans, and guide clients through meaningful progress. You’ll also gain access to my coaching protocols and ongoing support from me and senior breathworkers.

Breathwork Business Foundations

Unlike many programs that stop at techniques, I’ll teach you how to run a breathwork practice: insurance, client management, advertising, promotion, and pricing your services with confidence.

How to Become Certified

To become a certified Language of Breath™ Practitioner, you’ll move through four main steps:

STEP 1: Complete the Language of Breath Online Course

Start your journey by completing the online course, which builds your foundation in the Language of Breath™ system. This course covers the science, philosophy, and practical techniques you’ll eventually teach to others.

STEP 2: Apply for Acceptance

Once you’ve completed the course, submit your application to join the next certification cohort. Applications are reviewed in batches, so be sure to apply before the posted deadline.

STEP 3: Weekly Zoom Classes

After being accepted, you’ll join live weekly Zoom sessions led by Jesse Coomer. These classes deepen your knowledge, connect you with peers, and include Q&A and practice guidance. Recordings are available if you can’t attend live.

STEP 4: Master Class Practical

The final step is the in-person Master Class Capstone, where you’ll practice leading sessions, receive feedback, and refine your facilitation skills. This immersive experience completes your certification and prepares you to share the Language of Breath™ with confidence.

By the end, you’ll have both the knowledge and practical experience to begin working with clients immediately.

Career Opportunities After Certification

One of the most exciting things about this path is the flexibility it offers. Certification opens up opportunities such as:

  • Group Facilitator – Lead workshops, retreats, or community classes.

  • One-on-One Coach – Help clients manage stress, improve performance, or overcome challenges with personalized plans.

  • Workshop Designer – Create unique workshops tailored to specific needs such as recovery, resilience, or creativity.

  • Corporate Trainer – Introduce breathwork in professional settings, from businesses to first responders and athletic teams.

  • Complementary Practitioner – Add breathwork to your existing practice if you’re a coach, therapist, yoga teacher, or fitness instructor.

Some people build a full-time career out of this work. Others integrate it into what they already do. Both paths are valid, and certification gives you the foundation to choose what works for you.

What Certification Enables You to Do

By completing the program, you’ll leave prepared to:

  • Lead group classes and retreats with confidence

  • Build and deliver structured workshops

  • Work one-on-one with clients using tested coaching protocols

  • Create a sustainable breathwork practice with strong business foundations

  • Continue growing through a supportive community of breathworkers

This is more than just training; it’s a gateway into a meaningful career path.

Is This Training Right for You?

This program is a good fit if you:

  • Feel called to share breathwork with others

  • Want a proven system that blends science with practical application

  • Are ready to invest time and energy into building a professional skill

  • Value mentorship and ongoing community support

Whether you’re starting fresh or adding breathwork to your current career, this certification will give you the tools and confidence you need.

Ongoing Support

Certification is just the beginning. As part of the Language of Breath Collective, you’ll receive updated resources, group discussions, continued mentorship, and referrals. You won’t be left to figure things out alone; you’ll grow as part of a community.
